Birthday weekend!

So, Monday was my birthday which meant, naturally, I had to out and celebrate over the weekend.

On Saturday I went out for the night with some friends and decided to wear a black lace dress from Dorothy Perkins.I discovered that I really really like this dress! I like having sleeves and the length was great as I could wear the dress without tights and not feel self conscious (I hate my legs!).I wore a pair of red shoe boots that I bought during the summer in London in a shop that, for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of. Naturally being out and having one or two drinks I never got around to taking a proper outfit pic (blogger fail I know but I'm new at this) but this pic gives an idea of the outfit.
And this one shows the sleeves ..and me blowing out my flameless birthday candle..as you do.
 Shoes!

On Sunday night I went see Mick Flannery perform an acoustic show with a friend. Who's he? I asked the same question. It turns out he's a guy with the most beautiful voice! YouTube him! I wore a black & white playsuit that found in Penney's..on sale. It cost a whopping 7 euro #Bargain! I also wore a black blazer from Oasis that I've had for a few years and a pair of shoe boots (obsessed with shoe boots much?) from Dorothy Perkins. Please ignore the weird look on my face in the following pic, I really must learn how to pose.
And,of course, the shoes

Hope everyone had a good weekend xx

Hats off to Winter

Winter time is my favourite time of year. It has everything I like… long nights, crisp cold days, Christmas and… my birthday! Another one of my favourite things about this time of year is the clothes I get to wear. I’m a big fan of winter accessories, the hats, the gloves, the scarves. I love love love hats, I wish more people wore them.  The chunky knitted bobble hat is, of course, a classic (gotta love a bobble!). I wear bobble hats in two ways. One being the basic “bobble on top of head” way.

The other way I wear it is to unwrap the hat and wear it as a longer hat with the bobble falling down by the side.

Another style of hat I love is the “floppy hat”. I have this style in a few different colours and I love them all! I think these hats have a slightly more fancy feel to them, maybe it’s just me but I feel like much more of a grown up when I’m wearing one of these hats.

And finally, how much do I want to own this hat. Too cute!

Does anyone else love hats as much as me??

Just heading out for a few....

Just a quick post on what I wore while out with friends this weekend. I went a bit more casual this weekend as we were “just heading out for a few”, I decided to go with jeans and a shirt, both from Dorothy Perkins. It being the 1st of December, however, a bit of Christmas sparkle had to be thrown in, it really feels like Christmas time now doesn't it?

I recently rediscovered these boots that I bought last year from Penney's (cheap and cheerful), it seems they’d been thrown aside and forgotten about (shame on me). Finding them was a happy surprise, it was like getting new boots all over again, so they had to get an outing, and they kept my feet toasty warm #winning . If I remember correctly, at the time I bought them they were reduced and only cost me around 12 euro...bargain!

Hope you're all keeping well  xx

Tis the season for dresses

Well, it’s that time of year again…the work Christmas party! They seem to start earlier every year and for most it's a chance to get dolled up. Mine is happening this weekend and unlike previous years I am determined to only shop my wardrobe for my party outfit this year. One thing I am not lacking is dresses!

At the moment it seems highly possible I will be wearing a red dress to this years party, though my mind could change at any point. To go along with this dress I’m thinking a dark smokey eye. The smokey eye is a staple of mine on nights out, however, I always go for the brown smokey eye and this time I’d like to try a black smokey eye. One slight problem here…. black eyeshadow scares me! I feel like if I make one wrong move I’ll end up with panda eyes or like a child who got into her mother’s makeup case, and neither look is really what I’m going for. Hopefully over the next few days I can figure out how to overcome my fear of black eyeshadow, time to watch some YouTube tutorials I think! If anyone has any tips on the black smokey eye please feel free to share. Anywho, I’m sure I shall post a blog about the final outfit choice next week.

Now, just because I’m poor being sensible and not spending my money on dresses I don’t need doesn’t mean I can look, just some online window shopping if you will. After a quick trip over to Asos (oh how I love to browse the Asos website) I thought I’d share just a few fab party dresses that caught my eye…

Gotta love some sparkle for a party dress. I love this black one shoulder dress

and this gold dress.

You can't go wrong with some sparkle at Christmas time but for some people (me included) too much sparkle can be a bit daunting so I'm loving the lace trend this year. This dress is fab,I love the sleeves, they add a sexy, almost mysterious, edge and still cover your arms (a sensitive area for a lot of us!)

And since Christmas time is a great time for a red dress (but then you can never go far wrong with a red dress at any party) this is a great option. It's a good length for those of us who are a bit self conscious about our legs and the textured/ribbed material is ever so flattering.

For me this year though,my money is staying in the bank and I'm shopping from my wardrobe for my Christmas do. I'd love to hear what everyone else is planning on wearing this year......Going with something you already own? Splashing out on something new? Let me know!

To Blog....

To blog or not to blog? That is….not so much the question. How to start a blog? Now that is the question!

I guess I’ll start with why I decided to start blogging, seems the obvious thing to do. I love shoes (LOVE!) and I love fashion, building outfits, etc. So I figure where better to discuss these things than my very own blog. Obviously I have other interests but this blog will mainly be about outfits I’ve seen, worn, covet. However, until that lottery win happens (fingers crossed) these clothes will be ones that can possibly be purchased on my limited non-existent budget or clothes that already exist in my wardrobe. Really, it’s appalling how often I find something and say “I forgot I had that!” What goes on in my wardrobe? How are clothes disappearing for months at a time and then suddenly reappearing into my life??I own far too many clothes that aren’t being worn. I must explore the world in my wardrobe!
